This rubber boot is easy to install. Does not affect button operation. The touchscreen and charging port cover are not covered by anything. It adds welcome protection around the device (and about 1/8 inch to the overall dimensions). Already longer than many previous Garmin models, the Edge Explore has two buttons along the bottom edge. The front bracket used for my Edge 500 was not long enough and had to be replaced to accommodate this case and allow access to the bottom two buttons.
