In fact, this is a small fan. The performance is rather weak. Because the base is so small, you can only add a relatively small amount of water at a time, especially since the directions say NOT to fill it to the fill line. I read a number of reviews here and used cold water (chilled) and ice to try and get cooler air. Helps a little, but not much. I will return with regret. I test drove it for two days. Good things: * It's very easy to understand. I quickly read the instructions and it worked within minutes. * Very light and portable. * The light changes like 6 colors, which is cool. * Does it also generate fog? Bad things: * It's just a fan. I'm in Cali in the Inland Empire and that's not good enough for the high 90's and 3 digits. I certainly didn't expect it to work miracles, but I did expect *a little* when you're literally sitting a foot away from it. Humidity to be sure it was a fan and not inclement weather. When I checked the humidity was 27% which obviously isn't that much. table fan. Especially with headlights. But it is sold as a mini evaporative cooler. I bought this and Evapolar at the same time to compare both as they had the same good reviews on the Revain and online tech websites. I was really hoping THAT would be a better cooler because it's about $45 cheaper than the Evapolar. But no. Evapolar is definitely better. So I'm sending it back and probably buying a second Evapolar. Again, I really wish this would work better. Edit: I didn't send the fan back. Mainly because I'm lazy and it was too hot to wait for another fan. But also because the fan works a little better in a smaller room. I installed it on my bedside table. If it's within a foot of your face, it's decent.
