We bought this thermos to replace an old broken glass top thermos. We use it to make hot herbal tea from loose leaves/flowers. At first I was very happy to find this stainless steel thermos. But after 6 months something happened to the seal on the lid. Nothing dangerous, nothing fell. But now it only keeps warm for 2 hours and cools down quickly to room temperature all the time. And no matter what the manufacturer says, the leak is big. Press to the level of your thumb to pour out the tea and it will flow out of the front spout. Tilt it back to the upright position and the cap flows through the back tab. My wife burned her knuckles throwing it back and I kept dripping hot tea on my fingers while pouring it. It worked great at first: I found some leftover tea one morning and it was still at wrist height. But give 6 months until the lid seal breaks, then it's a mediocre thermos at best. On the plus side, the construction of the thermos itself is solid and the double walled construction is extremely heat efficient. After brewing the tea, you can press your palm against the wall of this thermos and it's not warm at all, just room temperature. But as soon as the lid's seal breaks, all the heat quickly escapes and that's it. Overall I am disappointed and will not buy it again. If they sold replacement caps it would be worth it.
