When it came time to buy new shower curtain hooks I said I would just go for the plastic hooks because metal hooks are always so noisy and I I'm a bit sensitive to noise but their great design convinced me. Yes, the sound of the beads on the shower rod is annoying, but it could be worse, and the convenience of the reversible hooks is fantastic. I love that if I want to wash the shower curtain but not the lining I can just take the shower curtain off and wash it without having to constantly take everything off to keep the two pieces connected. Each piece can be cleaned and reassembled individually - it's such a small thing, but I definitely appreciate it! When the plastic version comes out I'll just switch because of the noise, but for now I'm happy! $7.99 for a set when purchased, not bad.
