Review on Caran d'Ache Gouache Studio Set -15 Assorted Colors in Metal Tin by Kristi Marshall

This is my second one, I recommend it to everyone. This is a high quality product comparable to professional grade gouache. Cakes are huge and last a long time. Please do not confuse this set with Fancolor, I have both. This set is superior in consistency, texture and painting experience. Fancolor is more for kids, and while they're also great for bright colors, they don't have the quality of this studio set. If you are interested in painting, I would highly recommend this set. Caran D'ache is so consistent in tone, texture and application experience. I have tried other professional brands and this set is my favorite. They dissolve immediately. It is very important to note that pigment samples and their use when out of shape does not show the true potential of these colours. A minimal proportion of white enlivens the opacity and luminosity of the colors. Sounds counterintuitive, but it's true! I would consider buying this set before trying more expensive gouache colors or even more colors. This kit will teach you how to mix in a way that will surprise you. You may think I don't need gray or black, but once you add some gray to purple or light blue, your eyes will pop out and observe the subtle tones you see.
