Review on ❤️ RED HEART E901-9997 It's A Wrap Hues Yarn in Wine-Not Shade by Julie Phillips

Choose an intricate yarn or pattern, but not both.

I like this color scheme. The transition isn't the mixed gradation that other reviews have mentioned - it's two colors literally tied together with very thin black nylon threads about an inch apart, which addresses what other reviewers have said. I describe myself as an "ambitious beginner” when it comes to crocheting. With this yarn and the tiny crochet hook needed to get the job done (2.75mm and I have Godzilla arms), there's a lot of "oh wait, I missed a layer" when I stitch the stitches accelerate. I didn't have the tension issues that others have mentioned, but between controlling the yarn and memorizing the pattern, the yarn held out compared to my attention span. Colorway - Wine-Not: I make a "virus" scarf with this (thanks tutorials on YouTube!) and the colors work well, with a darker wine red as the color between the others (so it starts off dark red, goes to medium, back to dark, then lighter, then darker, then lighter, etc.) and so far so good. It doesn't drape as much as I expected with such a loose twist, but it could also be a tiny snag and my tension. Or the fact that it's not mercerized cotton or acrylic. Anyway, the coloring is good. Buying two cakes at the same time gave the same color batch numbers, although I don't think that matters as much with RH yarn as with other brands. If you're the type to turn off the TV and crochet (or knit) on autopilot, you might find yourself frustrated by this one.
