Loose ballast when testing, measuring and checking

Loose ballast pellets roll around in the areometer. A part of the granules got stuck between the paper scale and the areometer glass. I wasn't sure if this affected performance and/or accuracy or what might happen with continued use. However, if this wasn't a problem, I don't think it would have been necessary at all to seal ballast at the bottom of the hydrometer. I have chosen to return the item for a refund rather than receive a replacement. Made in China.
