Review on Continental PremiumContact 6 225/55 R17 97 year old by Janis Kronbergs ᠌

Good product, more pros than cons.

I've been using continental tires since 2022, when I switched to the premium contact 2. This gave me valuable experience with the company, and when the time came to make a tire purchase in 2022, the decision was simple. After a year on the road, I feel compelled to point out that premium contact 6 tires were designed and tested on European roads; otherwise, the engineers would have altered the pattern's groove width, as many small and medium stones tend to become lodged in the grooves here, resulting in a hum that, in my case, necessitates balancing every two months. I ignored the stones at first because I assumed they were the result of poor balancing, but after the same thing happened again, I started to investigate further and discovered that the treads of most of these tires consistently feature numerous stones. Even though I've always maintained a tire pressure of no more than 2.3 (there are pressure sensors in the car), I observed this year that the middle of the tire had worn out more than the sides when I was using them for the new season. Well, I'd like to mention the soft sidewall; many people write about it, but I've never thought of it as a drawback. You can't have a hard sidewall and a smoothly running rubber, after all. However, this rubber has a unique sidewall pattern, like 3d, that makes a hernia less obvious at first glance. I had to repair one cylinder after discovering a hernia on the bottom of the wheel, which I could only see from above. After feeling a tightness as I ran my fingers over this drawing this season, I decided to visit my masters in the hopes that they would either assuage my concerns or order a replacement. Even while tires have their detractors, nobody has any doubts about their effectiveness when it comes to stopping distance or straight-line stability.

Pros
  • Controllability Anticipated slowing
Cons
  • Uneven and noisy wear
