The latch works as described and magnate was strong enough to hold my door which, due to the slightly shorter hinge length, cannot close properly. However, I have 2 issues: 1. Installation was not as easy as described unless you have access to the latch from the back of the cabinet, but mine was a closed one. Adjusting the position of the latch to allow the 3mm compression to lock and not leaving a large gap is not easy. If the plate is thicker, say 3 mm, then the door can be closed exactly and be able to push into the latch to lock. 2.
