Review on ๐Ÿ“ธ BOYMXU USB 3.0 Memory Card Reader with Card Cover - 2 Slots (SD & Micro SD) - Black by Mark Adams

Write about 10 MB/s, read 30 MB/s in my test

I was looking for a decent 32GB memory card to put in my game cameras during the hunting season, but it doesn't take up much of the memory card (in terms of file reading and writing), so I'm I switched to 713 MB. Folder saved to a memory card and timed, then copied back to your computer. The files in the folder were mostly photos and PDF documents. Writing a 713MB file to the card took about 75 seconds at an average transfer rate of 9.5MB/s. It had faster spikes and seemed to average 8-15MB/s during the transfer, although a few files got stuck (or my 2 year old laptop got stuck, it's hard to tell which ones) and the average speed dropped. It took 23 seconds to move the folder back to 713MB with a read speed of 31MB/s. This card's description claims 20MB/s write speed and 80MB/s read speed - and you can see I hit less than half of those speeds. I started migrating a 16GB folder for a CAD program. I'll have to see if the average speeds differ, but I didn't have the patience to see what the total time for that would be. After about 45 seconds, the sustained write speed (according to Windows) fluctuated again between 10 and 20 MB/s, so maybe a little faster than the first test, but not by much. This map will work to work well. for my use and the price can't be beat, so I'm only deducting 1 star for the overly optimistic read/write speeds.
