Works great for fans
I used to wait for balls of dust to fly off my fan blades as they are very difficult to clean. It's an easy way to get hold of them so I can clean them every month. The long telescopic rod works great. I spray the rag with some sort of hanger before using it, mainly to keep the dust from sticking to it rather than just falling onto the carpet.
