I've never laid any flooring before and while I've never strayed from a home improvement project I honestly had little hope that it would be sticky tiles nor my skills. BUT WOW! I'm so glad I decided to do this. I originally planned on just installing the floor in the laundry room where my pig lives, but I went ahead because I was so impressed with how easy it was to install and how great it looked. I made a total of four adjoining rooms. My pig room was on the floor, I put the other three rooms on the wine and as a side note the rooms flow nicely into each other. I used a partition between the mourning rooms and the pig room. The more I installed, the more I learned. I recommend using additional spray adhesive. I used an orange bottle (gorilla glue I think) and it makes a huge difference in grip (and with pigs and dogs I wanted to make sure it didn't fall out). The longer you wait after spraying the tile backing and floor, the stronger the hold will be. So make sure you line up the two edges before you press down because once it's down, it's down. The pattern is surprisingly forgiving. My house is over 100 years old. Nothing is flat or square. I got so worried when the pattern was a bit off, but not enough to try to cut (I cut poorly, but that might be because I only had a steak knife). If you set it up up close you'll think that little imperfections in the template will ruin the whole project, but don't worry if you do you won't notice them. I even went back and looked at certain areas and couldn't identify them. If you align the edges of the tile and fold in place (the size you want) and then fold in the opposite direction, the tile will make a clean break, no cutting required. I learned to leave the backing and fold instead of laying the tile on and trying to cut off the excess. The hardest place around the toilet. You should order extra clutter items and I'm sure you'll find other places to tidy up and set up (closets or whatever). Path to the front of the tiles. I've spent a lot of unnecessary time cleaning - rough sponge, dry eraser, etc., then I found that if you put some oil on a paper towel it comes straight out (no wiping needed). I was so angry, but I was relieved when I discovered this. I've attached pictures so judge for yourself how my newbie looks, but I can say if you use spray adhesive (just a light dusting on both surfaces, nothing major) this floor is amazingly strong. My pig bites the floor so his room only had a black floor and the tiles in his room still support his big snout and hooves. but to be honest I'm not worried because if the tile gets damaged I'll just replace it. It also spills water frequently and the water just stays on top and doesn't even slightly affect the grip. One final perk: I had a plain floor (it was 30 years old and gross) but I thought I would clean this new floor more often, but I actually clean less! It somehow hides everyday dirt, pet hair, etc. better! I had to conform to the pattern but it totally brightened and transformed the space. I couldn't be happier! I also didn't notice any difference in pattern from box to box, and I ended up with 33 boxes! I used 6 cans of glue.
