I refused to buy them for about a year. At one point I had different color options in my cart (12, 24, etc.). I decided to buy a 90 color set because I had the ability to mix and match color palettes so I could make many different colors. I spent part of that year thinking I'd just buy a collection of ink pads from one or more different companies. around the network. I've thought about it, nearly pulled the trigger and honestly pinched it every time because I don't have much room to store 100 ink pads (and maybe rakers). but I want all things and all colors. I was really hesitant and decided to just try the pens to see if they work as described by a group of people who inspire me in the field of art. . They can be good, they can be great, and if not, I haven't spent as much money on water-based markers as I have on Copic/alcohol markers, which I really never use because... well. I don't like the colors (and that color scheme isn't the quality of my copy. I'm not slamming the copy here). Over the weekend after delivery, I used about four different methods (watercolor painting, direct coloring and blending, coloring directly onto stamps, painting directly onto paper, and water blending on reverse). To say I love the ease of use would be an understatement. Saying I'm disappointed in myself for waiting to buy them? Front Using it as a watercolor was amazing and incredibly easy and probably the one I will use the most. They laid out like a dream on the watercolor palette, I even used wax paper right away (and it worked well, but the pattern dried quickly. which is totally understandable, I couldn't wait. I had to try them) I absolutely love them them. The tip of the brush is very thin and I can easily control its use. I found at a glance this weekend that I like the feel of the brush tip much more than the ball tip/chisel on the Copics I have (which I know are interchangeable but not worth the money in my opinion ). The color palette of the 90 set I have is wide enough that I don't have to mix colors to get what I want. I love the "Grab and Go" ability to easily get the color I want. I don't really need to try the colors as there is a bullet point on the bottom of the handle which is a sufficient indicator for me indeed. I mixed a few colors yesterday to see how they would react and they did pretty well. I wanted a salmon color and the mix of pink and orange was close enough for the test. They were fun to try and blend easily with a quick spray of water and a swirl with a brush. The ink can be painted very smoothly on wetted watercolor paper and builds up fantastically. You can mess up the photopolymer stamp I found, but the stamp cleaning solution will help remove most of the ink from the stamp if that's important to you. Sometimes the residue bothers me and frustrates me with some brands so I checked it out. Don't forget to clean them with a solution right away if you want. They are fun to work with, pleasant to the touch and really useful with a little imagination. I'm glad these pens are in my use now. I can't wait to see what I dream of. It's worth it.
