Filters work as advertised. I change the filter in my pet's waterer about every 10 days. If I clean my pet's waterer every 4 or 5 days, I run the water through the filter to make sure it's still working. When water doesn't come out of the bottom of the filter, I know it's time to replace it with a new one. I'm on city water and we use a water softener. So until the filter lasts 2 weeks I feel it is doing its job adequately.
