Review on Panda Mini 150Mbps Wireless Adapter by Brad Dotson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Similar pedigree, best suited for NICs

I would like to point out that the included Ralink software is almost identical to other similar wireless USB adapters sold here at Revain. I bought (3) 802.11b/g/n 150Mbps Wireless USB LAN Wifi Adapters from sunvalleytek here at Revain. This is amazing hardware and pretty easy to install once you get comfortable with the Ralink utility and driver software. While the product sold by sunvalleytek may be much cheaper, it is larger in both length and thickness and sometimes does not easily fit into the USB ports on a desktop or laptop computer without having to move another device. successfully install and run in Ubuntu 11.04 which is my sole purpose for this purchase. Also, it boots much easier on Windows XP and I'm very happy with the results. In fact, my previous purchases would also work with Ubuntu if I knew how to add and configure these wireless adapters properly. Anyhow, the Panda device works very well on both Ubuntu and Windows. It's a bit smaller and in its sleek black body it's really a joy to hold and look at. For the user who wants a bit of looks and functionality for both Windows and Ubuntu, this is really hard to beat. Highly recommended.
