Review on 🐠 JW Pet Company Fusion Air Pump 200: The Ultimate Aquarium Air Pump by Jamie Lewis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great standard pump for a small aquarium

PROS: Easy to use and set up Reliable for the last 3 months + Quiet (but not quiet) Inexpensive Minimal vibration/stays in place when running CONS: Less pump power - not for a large aquarium One exhaust flow - not designed for multiple accessories The JW Air Pump 400 aquarium air pump is a great and affordable addition to a small aquarium. After interviewing a few pumps and looking at reviews and specs, I decided to give this one a try. When it comes to choosing an aquarium pump, it seems like there are better options at the higher end of the market. There's certainly plenty of choice at the lower end, but the reviews tell a few horror stories: quiet pumps that pop loudly, pumps that vibrate so hard they won't hold up, pumps that fail after a month. Also, it's rare to find a variable flow rate pump at this end of the market. Since I am using a pump for a small aquarium with a betta, stronger pumps were not an option. (I needed a replacement pump for the Back To The Roots Aqua Farm. It's a 3 gallon tank and the cheap pump that came with it broke after a few weeks.) This one seems to help. The Fusion air pump has been reliable for the past three months. It has a single air vent and a dial that lets you adjust the airflow, which is unusual for budget models. is he very quiet no But there's just a tiny buzz of itself that hasn't deteriorated or changed in the last month. It connects to a standard pipe and simply does its job. As long as the pump is reliable. I've had it for over 3 months now and it's still working fine. (Note for a beginner with an aquarium pump: always install a check valve in the air line near the pump. Failure to do this can allow moisture to flow back and damage the pump. Valves are really inexpensive and will extend the life of your pump. . ) This isn't a main powerhouse, so if you're interested in using multiple bubbler attachments or have a high-capacity tank, look elsewhere. It has only one air outlet. This is perfect for my purposes, but doesn't work if you want to use a pump for a more complex aquarium. But what he does, he does well. And there doesn't seem to be many options for a <5 gallon tank. highlighted.
