Easy to use, great results

UPDATE: Customer service has been great. Colleen gave me a spare set of blades that was pretty easy to replace myself. I've been doing my own haircuts for 10 months so I've probably already saved at least double what I paid for this machine. It's worth it. The only downside is that it's a messy process I manage by doing 90% of it outside and then just finishing the details above the sink. ---- Like another recent reviewer, my clipper arrived with a broken "blade". It's actually just a solid metal comb attached to a clipper. I contacted Val to see if I could replace the part. Depending on how things are going I will either add or remove a star. The scissors work great too. It cuts very smoothly, nothing pulls. Everything got really bad, all the hairdressers and salons closed, so I was prepared that I was going to just get a haircut. I have some friends who cut their own hair and they do it and I expected it. I was surprised that it was actually very easy to keep my usual style which is shorter on the sides and longer on top. The various plastic guards that come with this clipper make it very reliable. I used #5 on the sides and #8 on top and it came out great. The rest is easy to clean with the conical ear tips and clipper for sideburns and décolleté. It took a while the first time because I was afraid of the possible damage I might do. But really, next time I think it will be a piece of cake. Just be prepared for a big mess of trimmed hair when you're done. I think next time I'll try to just do it outside. Even over the sink it took some time to get all the hair out. The biggest drawback is the missing loading indicator. The battery claims to last 2 hours, but you really can't know for sure you'll have enough power to get the job done unless you charge it before each use and know when it's completely empty. That would be the worst run in the middle of work. But it reportedly has a 15-minute "quick charge". So I plan on just leaving it the night before my haircut. Also, the power button is a bit odd, and if you press it lightly during use, the device turns off. But the power button doesn't interfere if you hold it in normal mode, so that's not an issue. All in all, this is a wonderful device. Easy to use. And I've had great results despite my lack of experience. I will probably never go to the barber again. Thus, this hair clipper easily pays for itself after the first two cuts. I just really hope Wahl Support takes care of my broken part.
