There are several models of digital protractor, spirit level etc. Under the hood there seem to be only 3 or 4 actual models which the sellers have renamed, the biggest difference being the number Keys, decimal digits and measurement functions. Please note that the price of two different brands can be significant even if the actual products appear similar or identical. The obvious features of the Neoteck level box are three button controls and two decimal digits ie "12.34" for measuring degrees (% of slope). resolution is tenths of a percent). Keep in mind that Neoteck's accuracy specs make it reliable to within 0.1 degrees (like most other digital levels). The main advantage of having two decimal places for degrees is to shift the "jitter" of digital readings to less significant digits (hundredths). The display is backlit (with more information) and turns off after a few seconds, but turns back on automatically when the layer is moved. This is more convenient than some digital levels that require you to press the ON button again to restore the backlight. If the device is not used for a few minutes, it switches off automatically. Another notable feature, although not the only one, is the multiple metering modes, including degrees, % tilt, and distance increment. Neotek is also easy to recalibrate. Be sure to keep the user manual in a safe place - you may need it one day, and you will not find any instructions or analogues on the Internet. I have one of these twins which is identical to the Neoteck in every way except for the name and the Neoteck display updating slightly faster. The rest of the work and accuracy is the same. Batteries are 2xAAA which are cheaper and easier to find than "CR" type batteries and last for months. I use a digital level for astronomical purposes (telescope alignment). I find this works better than a bubble level. The only downside is the small base size, which seems to introduce a random variation of about 0.1 degrees into the readings. Accuracy can be improved by mounting the magnet base on a piece of flat steel rod about 6" to 8" long to provide a longer baseline.
