Hassle free ABS Bleed

I bought this scanner because I needed a way to bleed the ABS system on my 2000 GMC truck. Old GM trucks have a nasty habit of rusting on the brake lines. In any case, I was really hoping that this scanner would allow me to bleed the ABS system myself. After I ordered and received the device, I tried it right out of the box. I couldn't get it to recognize my car or communicate in any way with the truck's computer. I emailed Autel and received a prompt response. I was prompted to update the software and try again. After a software update (from 2017) I was able to use the scanner successfully. It was actually a lot easier than the manual suggests and it was almost entirely automatic and took maybe two minutes to complete. I am impressed. For life, although I don't know why the software on the SD card that came with the scanner wasn't updated from the start. One would think that it would be updated at least up to the date of manufacture (September 2019 in this case). The update process takes about an hour. The brake pedal is no longer soft. The tool can also perform functions such as steering sensor adjustment, airbag service and code management, electronic parking brake adjustment and battery management, among others. And it is also an OBDII reader.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not bad
