Review on Replacement Universal Foam Cycling Helmet by Nate Nelson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Matching replacement

I bought these to replace the OEM foam in an old Giro Eclipse helmet. The foam is just the right width to conform to the helmet's existing structure and allowed me to customize the fit even more than the OEM foam. I ended up with five pieces, one of which had to be cut in half to fit along the temple. The velcro stickers seemed to stick to the helmet well and stayed put after about 80 miles of riding in a wet environment. The velcro was a little weaker than the original velcro pads in terms of foam attachment, but still held up strong enough, especially since I was just adding on an existing velcro rather than replacing it entirely. --- -- --- Edit: Since I got my original one review, I have ridden almost 600 miles in hot, humid, cold and rainy conditions while wearing a helmet with these replacement pads installed. I haven't had any issues with foam breakdown, velcro failure, adhesive failure, or discomfort. Highly recommended as a replacement and now regret not having done it much earlier when my helmet first started to feel uncomfortable due to the original pads failing.
