Review on Tide Movement Tells Time Until by Mark Lowery

great replacement! on equipment

The mechanism on my old tide clock broke so I ordered this as a replacement. It works like a charm and is better than the original that came with the watch. Reason for only four stars, there are some cons: - Although it fits my watch perfectly, you have to use the minute hand that came with it, as my original didn't fit and interfered with the movement. I also had to cut off the tip of the pointer because it was too long for my watch, but this was an easy fix. Make sure your watch is at least 6-7 inches in diameter to avoid this. The instructions that came with the watch are out of date (copyright 1987) as they only talk about the ebb and flow with a chart to help you figure out how to do it. put it together I'm just glad I've built clocks before and knew how to assemble them, but those who haven't may not find the instructions that helpful. If you're waiting for the full moon and want to do what's on the sheet, you can do that, or you can just look it up online. - The battery is a pain, insert the positive side first then the negative side for the best match. It does NOT include the tide clock face, although it is shown in directions in the diagram so those making their own will need to find the face and case elsewhere. If you use them as a replacement for a broken mechanism, then this will not be a problem for you. Overall they work and are a great replacement for the old tide clock that I really didn't want to just throw in the trash because it stopped. To work. If you make your own tide clock it will be the same as the expensive new ones from the shore store so this is your best choice at the best price.
