Works handy. I've bought this type of subwoofer grille before and it usually completely covers the subwoofer. (Outside the subwoofer assembly.) I had to place it over the outer ring where the screws go. Using the screws provided, the heads of the screws were ripped off before I drove them very deep into the wood, driving them into the wood. (I didn't drill pilot holes.) I ended up using drywall screws and when I started tightening them I went through the plastic without realizing it because it's so soft. I managed to get the rest by being very gentle. However, if you are very careful with them, they should work just fine. I found them hard to treat well because they seem so cheap. For me I would rather get something a little better quality to protect my investment.
