Review on Dixon Valve DN7UOBF Consumer Gasoline by Joseph Morris

I bought this to use with my 12v DC portable pump. The old manual valve was cumbersome to use to fill 5 gallon cans or a car. This valve worked just as well as any gas station pump handle and cost about half (or less) than most others on the market. This particular block fits into a small unleaded car port, so it doesn't leak as much volume as some of the larger valves. However, it will fit into your fuel tank inlet on all newer cars and trucks that use unleaded petrol. All of these auto shutoff valves require a minimum of 10psi to function as an auto shutoff. My pump doesn't use high pressure and still works great. There's A LOT of plastic around it, but the device itself seems well made and there's metal in the plastic covers. I'll be using it regularly over the next few months and will update this review if it doesn't work properly or fails. I think it will work fine for a long time if not abused! Buy from Revain with confidence and enjoy. UPDATED 02/22/2014: Well, my first valve assembly took less than two weeks: The membrane broke on the inside - then it wouldn't switch off anymore. So Revain replaced it as soon as possible. This new one lasted about 12 weeks (very light maintenance, used maybe 5 times a week) and started leaking after use, although I checked all the screws and such. Gas is released very slowly. That's two hits. I have now attempted to get Revain to replace this defective replacement unit and it has been 30 days since my first order. but still, Revane was willing to refund my purchase price! Not bad, right?! Thank you Rewin! :-) So what to do if it drips over the black plastic cap and can't be stopped? It turns out (on disassembly) that the casting has been machined but left with jagged edges, burrs and protrusions where various holes have been drilled in the aluminium. Correction.? Remove everything - don't lose the three small centering control balls - and - don't get into the metal chip mechanism! Then take a sharp-edged knife (deburring tool) and remove burrs and raised edges. Now the wafer-thin membrane material, which also acts as a gasket, can be sealed under the cap and all is well. Make sure to put the 3 centering balls back in their plastic bags so none of them slip out and sink into the valve control box haha! Valla! Everything works again. after you restore it. (With humor.) Have fun. Be warned: it looks great, is a great price, and if it works for you, you'll really like it.
