This socket consists of two parts (outer housing and inner plug) which are connected together. The hole in the outer shell is too small to insert the molded phone cord into the jack far enough to properly engage. It seemed to snap into place, but that was only for the outer case. Communication was broken. I wanted to send the receiver back, but couldn't find a replacement in this price range. (Naval vessels are much more expensive.) I got the vessel to work by enlarging the hole in the body with jewelry files. This allows the case to pass through the case allowing the phone jack to fit fully into the internal jack.
