I wanted to connect my Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega Genesis to a 16:9 computer monitor while maintaining the 4:3 aspect ratio of consoles (which is what then Die (cheapest composite to HDMI converters won't fit.) In my online research, I found that my monitor accepts VGA inputs with variable aspect ratios (both 16:9 and 4:3). During my further research I came across this product. and ordered it. The delivery itself was quick and the contents were packed in a ziplock bag. After setting up the device itself and the consoles, I launched my games and to my dismay the images were black and white. Both my SNES and Genesis were missing most if not all of the colors that should have been, the images I've attached show what each system looked like. At first I thought the device might be defective, but I connected my N64 and everything was fine. and dandy. That's a real shame because I wanted the SNES and Genesis to be connected to my monitor instead of my N64 which I connected to my CRT TV. Judging by other reviews, this works with post-SNES consoles. So if you have a console that came out before the N64, this product may not be for you. Oh, and there's no controller input lag for either system, so you can at least play the Sonic 1928 edition without input lag.
