I don't know why it's so hard to find a reliable pump. This is the second pump I have (the previous one was from a different manufacturer) and it only lasted 6 months. The only problem I had initially was that the suction cups couldn't hold it securely in my tank. After about 4 months the problem was that you had to keep restarting it to actually get it working. You would turn it on, you would hear it turn on, and yet it wouldn't move the water. Now 6 months later it doesn't move the water, keeps making those annoying noises because the prop wants to pop out of the case and then the prop gets rid of the useless suction cups.
