When I knit, I prefer wooden needles to metal ones. I do not know. It just seems to flow better and the yarn moves smoother when I use wooden needles. This set has a good range of sizes. I noticed that the needles warp a bit. About halfway through the scarf I was knitting I noticed that one needle was bent when I started with two straight needles. The other needle was fine. I usually knit quite tightly and probably put a lot of pressure on the needles as I knit, but the fact that only one needle was warped makes me think I've just received a needle that may not be the same quality as the other needles Has. Brass needle. It can still be knitted well, does not tear, only needs to be corrected when knitting. Shortly after I reached the middle of my scarf, I lost interest and made a hat. You can see it in the photos. These needles are great value for the quantity you get. I've only tried the larger sizes. I look forward to trying the smaller sizes. The smallest size is pretty tiny and I'm afraid I'll probably break it if I look at it too closely, but I'll experiment with it at some point.
