This is my first experience with a Makita compatible counterfeit product. I have 22 different Makita 18 volt cordless tools, 9 Makita brand batteries (plus 2 other brands) and 3 Makita brand chargers. While charging, lower the temperature of the battery and extend its life." Bad English, but worse, this charger, like Makita's DC18SD, doesn't have a fan. If it's any consolation, the Revain description for this Makita says- Charger also that it has a fan. I opened up the YongerTool charger (uses a T-10 hollow tip driver) to make sure it doesn't have a fan. However, the lack of a fan isn't a problem for me. It's not really a fast charger, and none of the multiple batteries I've charged with it have ever felt warm to the touch at any point during charging. My concern is that the description is incorrect, in the sense that there's no fan and clearly no "leak protection." " or "overpressure protection". Should Revain remove this product based on these false claims? Maybe. This lack of honesty in the description is the reason and in fact the only reason I'm deducting a star. Another small disadvantage is that the YongerTool charger always plays Mozart's Little Night Music. This happens when you insert the battery into the charger and charging is complete. You can't switch to a different tune or turn it off like you can with a Makita charger by quickly removing and installing the battery. Luckily, the tune is quieter and doesn't play as long as the Makita charger tune. Not entirely sure if this is a minus or not, but this charger has what appears to be a button and light in the lower right corner of the face. Next to this ad is an image of a battery and wrench. Looking inside, my model doesn't have any wires or lights connected to this area. Maybe future models will include something here, or previous models? Very good: I love that this charger has a digital display so you know what's going on. It has the same crazy lighting system as the Makita chargers, but surpasses them by including that readout feature as well. It's nice to know right away that my battery is now 67% charged. It also reads volts and amps. Hopefully these readings are more reliable than the product description for this item. I also like that YongerTool made this article "Multivolt". It can be used with US 110 volts or 220 volts which I had in the Philippines. Another thoughtful touch is the screw holes on the back, allowing the charger to be hung on the wall. In fact, there's even an indication on the back of the plastic that these holes are 160mm or 6 5/16 inches apart. This makes it easier to install the screws when I wall mount this charger. There was also a benefit I didn't know I needed when I decided to consider this charger. I also decided to review a pair of Makita batteries from other manufacturers. As it turns out, my Makita chargers won't charge them if these non-Makita batteries get too drained. The YongerTool charger (I'm still trying to get used to the name) brought these batteries to full charge with no problems. After this worked I was hoping that this charger could also charge a Makita brand battery which I know is bad. However, it refused (flashing green and red), as did the Makita charger. The USB charging port worked to charge my phone. You can never have too many places to plug your chargers. Conclusion: I would never choose a charger from another brand. But I decided to revisit this one and see what it is. Actually I was very impressed. I find the digital display a really nice feature. And since I have a Makita charger with a very noisy fan, this charger isn't too bad without either. YongerTool's charger certainly doesn't do everything that is stated in the product description. But it charges Makita batteries just as fast as my old Makita chargers. I've only had it a week but if it blows up I'll update my review. And if this continues and one of my Makita chargers finally fails, I'll probably buy another YongerTool charger like this as a replacement (unless Makita introduces a charger with similar capabilities, of course). I hope this review is helpful.
