Review on ๐Ÿ”ง TYC 2402: Subaru 1-Row Plastic Aluminum Replacement Radiator - High-Quality and Compatible by Kobby Fairchild

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Precise fit, no leakage.

This radiator was called the KOYORAD 2402. It was as close to the original as one could wish for. The core looked exactly like the original to me and everything was perfect for a hassle free fitment to my 1999 Subaru Forester. It was packaged in a double box with an extra cardboard backing attached to the heatsink. A few tips: 1. It is handy to have two drain pans, one for coolant and one for transmission oil cooler (TOC) oil at the bottom of the radiator.2. When disconnecting the TOC connections you can use the two rubber plugs that come with the new cooler to seal the same connections on the old cooler to minimize oil leakage. Two #00 rubber plugs fit snugly in the oil lines from the engine to prevent oil from draining there. These plugs are approximately 1/4" in diameter at the small end and 1/2" at the large end. Cork stoppers should also work the same as ball bearings of the appropriate size.3. There are two thick rubber bushings on the lower supports of the original radiator. They came from the original radiator and I didn't notice them at first. You must remove them from the racks and install them on the new radiator or the new radiator will sit too low and wobble. (Ask me how I know that.) 4. I chose to reuse the original faucet because it screws in tighter than a new one. It's a little longer, but fits with no problems. Make sure you have a rubber o-ring on your faucet. Overall it was a great purchase and I would 100% recommend this radiator. Update: After twelve months of use, the cooler remains problem-free.
