Review on ๐Ÿณ Efficient Red Norpro Silicone Microwave Double Egg Poacher by Clarence Calcara

UPDATE: Doesn't work that well because top is cracked

Norpro Double Egg Poacher Silicone Microwave UPDATE 11-4-18 Clear plastic top cracked and now it doesn't fit as well, probably less tight. Eggs take longer to cook. The top can fall into two parts, in which case it is unusable. I have always been careful with the tip and have never dropped it. I didn't even wash it in the dishwasher. So disappointed. I used to love it. But it only lasted a little over a year and now I'm looking for another one on Revain. I will not buy again. I like 06.10.2017. I have a 1000 watt turntable microwave. Here's what I do: 1. I put the poacher on a ceramic plate because it's inherently somewhat "flexible".2. Spray each section with spray oil.3. Crack an egg into each compartment.4. Prick each yolk about 6 times with a fork. I think this will keep the eggs from exploding in the microwave. Season to taste. I add some salt.6. Microwave at 50% power for 2 minutes.7. Ready! I like it when the yolk is slightly runny. Your time may vary. I experimented to find the best time for my microwave, preheating to 50 power for 30 seconds at a time, then another 30 seconds until they were just how I wanted them. After several days of classes I figured out 2 minutes total time that works for me. To me, eggs cooked this way have the taste and texture of "real" poached eggs and are very easy to prepare. This method is very reliable. If your microwave doesn't have a turntable, you can try turning the spatula halfway through cooking.
