Leaks at the gasket, very difficult to remove.

Worked fine for a few months then the seal started to leak. Now I have to change the oil, the oil plug is very difficult to remove. It's so complicated that I have to open the top of the lid and use the channel lock to open it. It's like the first time I've had to take it off since I put it on. I thought I might over tighten it but there is no click from this cap and no automatic stop.
