Update: I recently bought a second one to replace the first and was not disappointed. I would like to mention a few things about the color protection of this collar. 1) If your dog has allergies, fleas, or just likes to scratch a lot, their claws will dig into what appears to be colored paint on the collar and it will begin to flake and peel off. HOWEVER, I believe that some improvements have been made to this collar as the second one I received is far superior to the first. 2) DO NOT let this collar get wet! This will definitely cause the paint to stand out and peel. My dog went swimming and the lovely pink color was mostly toasty. As for the rest of the collar, I stand by my original review. The collar is thick, well made and stiff. Even though my dog had an allergic reaction last year and ripped tons of paint, SHE HAS NOT LOST A SINGLE HAIRPIN. The rhinestones are pretty pretty. I am posting two pictures for this review. One shows how the collar has withstood a year of wear and tear (water and scratches) compared to brand new. The second is the second collar my dog has worn two months in a row. Despite the learning curve of the first ones I am still very happy with this collar and she gets loads of compliments! Beautiful, well-made, thick collar. The skin is quite firm. The rhinestone ones are all individually set and very glittery - you can see them shimmering all over the room. It looks good on my female Pitti. Very happy with this purchase especially since I didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for something that looks like it will last.
