These are very sharp scissors but their design makes them difficult to use. I bought this to peel a pumpkin and it does, but you have to do 2 passes to get all the skin, but it's still easier than a knife. This is also colored immediately. I hated using it to peel carrots because it spills the skin all over the place or wraps around the tool and then you have to stop to peel it off. I would return it but it got pumpkin stains the first time I used it and it actually works for what I wanted it for but I wouldn't buy it again.
