Review on Philips Norelco AT830 46 Frustration by Megan Ramirez

This is the only razor that consistently shaves my rough beard well. I have a thick mustache and the ones on my neck are close and don't protrude. That makes foil shavers quite inefficient, although the Braun 7 series came close, but it vibrates strongly and shaves much longer than with this Norelco. For reference, I wash my face in the shower first, then apply Lectric Shave to lift my sideburns and lubricate my face before shaving. I've also had success with a light non-gel foam ("Gillette Foamy"), but it's messier and shaves no better than "Lectric Shave". When my old version of this shaver broke down after a few years of service, I spent a few months trying out one of the new 5700 series shavers. Even though they use the same blade sets (SH50/52/formerly HQ8) I shave much better with the 4500. It's not just my imagination. I ordered this 4500 and shaved with it the next day to see a very noticeable improvement. My guess is that the difference must be in the resiliency of the blades, head rotation, and/or rotation speed.
