I originally bought this for my elderly cat but she refuses to use it. Luckily my younger cat loves it very much. It's a subtle warmth, but when she gets out of bed you can feel how hot it's actually getting on her body - surprisingly hot, but I'm not worried about burning herself or overheating. Both of my cats weigh around 7 pounds and while I'm sure they both could fit together, this is more suited to small to medium sized cats. The sides don't rise as high as they appear in the picture either, but that doesn't discourage using it. The bed has an egg foam over the heating pad and the cover itself is removable velor. The color matches the picture quite well. Overall, if you're looking for heated cat beds, this is a good option that doesn't cost too much but is still very efficient and looks well made.
