The pliers are made of thin material with handles that I think are wrapped in hard plastic. While this worked with my son's 1x11 mountain bike chain, squeezing to unlock/lock the chain link can cause discomfort in your hands. The chain wear guide isn't bad, but I have yet to see how accurate it is. I haven't used any of the links but they seem to be of decent quality. As you would expect from tools in this budget price range, this kit is best for home use or occasional bike repairs. The build quality is not designed for heavy use or professional workshop use.
