When I first assembled this unit and installed about 40 pounds. the device jams badly. However, the wall brackets were strong and the vertical ones attached to the horizontal ones were distinctly indirect. The verticals attach to the horizontal with two small screws at each vertex. I was really concerned that the block would fail. However, I've found that extra diagonal supports between the horizontal and vertical worlds help keep it from sagging. I went to a big store and bought a 10" repair plate and some 3/4" 1/4-20 bolts, nuts and lock washers. I squared the block back and drilled 1/4" holes to line up with the holes in the repair plates. I attached the plates with 1/4-20 screws and the post is rock solid. I've included photos of the final installation , the repair plates are about $3 each and I used 4 of them.
