These shirts are soft and I love it as most sun protection clothing is not soft. I also think they breathe well on hot days which is a nice touch as sun protection gear designed for water is not suitable for other activities. They are not meant to get wet, but to be worn while hiking or playing outside without wanting to cover your child in sunscreen from head to toe. They work! We spent over 3 hours in the Colorado sun playing by the river and that's where my son didn't come home with a sunburn. Sleeves are LONG! The torso fits well but the sleeves have 2 inches more fabric which hopefully means he can wear it longer. I bought several things in different sizes for my son. I recommend.
