On PC builds I like to use them for the BIOS firmware header or Clear CMOS header instead of shorting them out. I will also either route the PC reset switch to clear the CMOS or flash the BIOS and if there is no reset switch I will use one of those and show the button outside the case or change the case and insert Added Clear CMOS/Flash BIOS. Button. These work as expected (I haven't tested everything to see if they all work but honestly for the price it doesn't matter)
