Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Bilstein B8 5100 Front Steering Damper - Silver, Model 33-174525 by Darrin Lucas

High pressure shock - no damper!

Installed on my 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab Long Bed. My setup is completely stock except I run 3500HD 265/75R/16 tires, stock length, Fox 2.0 shocks (no lift), airlift -Airbags. When you squeeze and release this high pressure shock absorber it will spring back to its original position and that is exactly what it will do in your truck. When installed correctly, this caused a very small but noticeable pull on my truck to the right. I will not install a dual anti-roll bar kit just to have a Bilstein under my truck. A real damper offers the same resistance when pushing down and when moving up or turning left or right in a steering application. It just wasn't right. Bilstein makes great shocks, don't get me wrong, but this high pressure one-piece shock didn't fit my truck. I ordered a Rancho RS5000 steering damper which is not a high pressure shock for my truck and will see if it is much better than the stock version. Read the reviews, many have experienced this. I thought it was important for you to know what my truck setup actually is because there are so many setups like oversized tires, suspension jacks, torsion wedge cranks, torsion wedge jacks, etc. For those who have a stash of Duramax, consider this review.

Pros
