Bracket sizes suit me

The screw holes on the back of the bracket are 1.25" wide so I can insert my screws into the wall studs. I was more comfortable with brackets attached this way than with drywall. I used two brackets per shelf for fairly short shelves and plan to order more brackets to complete the project. Some shelves will be 62 inches long. I think two brackets will handle these shelves. Also, my shelves were 1.5 inches thick, which is the same height as the back of the bracket. The placement of the holes in the shelf is critical to ensure the back plate is not visible and to ensure the shelf attaches to the wall studs and the shelf is flush.
