I bought this kettle because of the cute blue lightbulb. I was happy to find a glowing one at a reduced price of about $20. now i know why Due to the awful design of the spout, boiling water comes out when you try to pour it. It often pools on the countertop or bounces off the person watering. I've poured water for tea before and the next thing I remember is my feet are on fire and I realize it was like that again. I always make sure my dogs are off the ground underneath me when I'm using it and the kid is a good 15 feet away. fast, it rusts inside so you don't want to drink out of it, and it smells like burnt plastic. Not at all surprised to read other reviews that it shoots sparks. I can only assume that all the good reviews are from people who haven't lived with it and are just happy with the blue light out of the box. I just don't think this product will pass the US/Europe safety tests. This kettle should not have been written off, it should have been recalled as unusable.
