Review on πŸ–₯️ 27 Inch Display Acer R271 Bid - 1920X1080P, 60Hz, Tilt Adjustment - UM.HR1AA.001 by Victor West

No sound but nice big display with no glare

I received a 27 inch model which turns out to have no audio capabilities at all. I thought I could connect external speakers but I can't find an audio jack and the manual says only some models have one. I'm using this to extend my laptop's display, so I need to connect speakers to my laptop to play sound. For me it was ok though; I only use a wireless speaker and haven't had any issues, but I'm deducting a star for that. The ad is good. It's not the sharpest or most impressive display I've seen, but it has served me well. Most of my computer is spent reading long text files, typing text documents, or watching Netflix, and I loved that big monitor the whole time. I will say that text on this display always looks a bit more pixelated than it does on my fancy new laptop, but that doesn't bother me. The TV is actually better than on my laptop, brightness and contrast are better on this Acer monitor, especially in dark scenes. Or I was beside the size that this matte screen produces absolutely no glare or reflections, which is surprising since the lighting in my room renders glossy screens with glare unusable. The thin bezel looks good and this monitor is incredibly light and compact enough to leave plenty of room on my desk. In short, I would definitely recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a budget option for general computing use. If you play hardcore games, or do high-end photo/video editing, or are really picky about display clarity, I think you should look at the higher price range. I think this monitor is under $200 and is a really good buy. But pay attention to the noise situation!

Pros
  • 4 stars for one simple reason, when you're spending that much on a monitor, it should come with an HDMI cable.
Cons
  • Poor sharpness
