My first test was to burn a dual layer DVD from an ISO image file I created years ago, but never to a dual -Layer DVD - the recorder I originally had installed on this system. It worked perfectly. It will probably be some time before I can fully utilize Mdisk's capabilities, but its purported archival capability for long-term storage is one of the main reasons I chose this drive. The included software has the usual "Of course it's good, but you REALLY need to buy this magic upgrade!" Start with the screens, but read the comparison chart - it looks like most of the footnoted "Optional" features included in this release. It has an old Molex power connector but comes with an adapter if your power supply only has a more modern drive power connector. It also comes with a data cable, mounting screws and a driver disk. It's FAST - the install process loads faster than anything I've ever installed from an optical drive. Windows automatically recognized the drive and installed enough standard drivers to allow the drive to read an installation CD with special drivers and software to take full advantage of the CD's burning capabilities.
