I just ordered this monitor after 2 years of experience with a previous ASUS (VS278q-p) - I was given the original and was actually planning to buy a much more expensive screen to pair with my Powerbook Pro/Retina laptop . . After using VS278 I realized that I didn't need the ultra high resolution and perfect color reproduction of a very expensive display since 98% of my work is for the web. The reason I didn't buy another 278 was because I use it behind my laptop, so I always put it on a stand or on top of a stack of books. This monitor has a built in tall stand so I can see the entire screen over my laptop without the need for additional standoffs. As for the cables, this box has an amazing set but not what I need! If like me you want a basic HDMI -> HDMI cable you will need to buy one as it is not included! I prefer the smaller frame, the much nicer overall look and the very good height-adjustable stand with this screen. I doubt I'll be using it in vertical mode, but it's easy to do and looks good. It would be nice to have three of them side by side in vertical mode, but I don't really need it ;-) Also, this monitor shows a 5ms response versus 1ms response on my VS278Q-P, but I honestly can said. t see this difference. but then i'm not a gamer. I'm a graphic designer and for me this works really well and saves me a small amount of money.
