Updated Review for CG Tire & Trim Gel

SWITCH TO POSITIVE FEEDBACK 10/05/2020: So I gave this product another try. This time I prepped the surface with Chemical Guys Oil and Wax Cleaner/Remover. Then apply tire and trim gel. Cleaning and preparation are required. I've applied gel to all of the burnt plastic on my F150 (door handles, rubber around the windows, plastic under the windshield where the wipers are, even tried on the driver's interior door). So far, so good. The gel is very, very thick and it doesn't take much to get a clean, restored look. I found that I had to go back and rub over the areas where the gel had been applied to remove the lines. I highly recommend buying the Oil & Wax Cleaner & Tire & Finish Gel together. Sorry for the initial negative review, chemists! I'm glad I made a second attempt. **************************************** ORIGINAL REVIEW 08-2020: Usually do everything Chemical Guys, amazing. However, I found an exception to this statement with "Plastic and Rubber Tire and Finishing Gel". Very disappointed. I used this product on my 2013 F150 where the black plastic trim is no longer black but a sun faded gray. After washing and drying, the gel was applied according to the instructions on the label. When it was finished it looked great - almost brand new. However, this lasted about 4-5 days, after which signs of extinction began to appear. After two weeks, the surface turned gray again, with no trace of this product. The product will NOT repair faded black plastic trim. It is a very thick transparent gel, similar to silicone. When applied, the plastic appears to have been rejuvenated or restored. But this appearance is short-lived due to driving and weather conditions. The product can be kept well in California, but not in New England. I've had better results spraying WD-40 on fabric and applying it to faded surfaces. Products.
