I also find these gloves very useful. Optional

Five stars indicate likely durability. I also find these gloves very useful. Also, my return was processed very efficiently. Fit/Sizing: I see 4 potential issues when trying to get the right size for these gloves. How wide is your palm (most important). How thick your wrist is (somewhat important). How long are your fingers (mostly unimportant). How fat your fingers are (usually doesn't matter). The following size chart (from the Speedo website) shows palm width: WATER FITNESS GLOVES SIZE CHART ML XL8.0cm 8.5cm 9.0-9.5cm 10.0-10.5cm Note: Width: Measure them horizontally across your palms. (Although my palm is about 3.75 inches wide, right in the Large category, that size would be too big for me.) This fit criterion is the most important. If the gloves are too big on the palm, they will feel loose on the hand. I bought two pairs of Speedo Training Swim Gloves for my wife and I, an XL and an M. I returned the XL partly because they were too big and too loose on my arm. I am currently using a medium size that I bought for my wife. This pair is also a little loose. This is especially noticeable when swimming. I think wet material tends to stretch, fill with water and feel like they swell a little. I have rather small wrists. For fit, this is somewhat/slightly important. I think the size of the wrist hole and the location of the velcro is related to the size of the glove/palm. this. Size XL has a larger wrist opening than size S. Not only do my medium sized gloves feel too big in my palm, I feel like I need to adjust the velcro to the minimum hole size to keep the glove on my hand. (Two downsides to this setting: the Velcro has limited contact, and the extra strap dangles with every movement.) Finger length: I didn't find it useful to compare the sizing to other glove types. I have large to very large hands (maximum spread from the tip of the thumb to the tip of the little finger = 23.5 cm). I have a hard time finding the right work gloves. I've tried on (literally) hundreds of pairs of work gloves. If the gloves fit, they are almost always XXL, and even they are often too small. I have about 10+ pairs of winter gloves, all XL and XXL. Perhaps the difficulty lies in the long fingers? (Middle finger of the right hand = 9cm). While fit is key for me with fingerless gloves, this isn't an issue with Speedo's fingerless swim gloves. Whether my fingers protrude 0.5β€³ or 1.5β€³ out of the gloves doesn't seem to affect comfort or functionality significantly. Finger Hole Size: The finger holes on these medium gloves are also too big for me. This seems to affect how the gloves work: strong forward motion seems to squeeze the material around the edge of the finger, creating resistance. Also, water seems to get into the glove around the fingers, creating more resistance. However, I don't see this as a problem. I have to work harder against resistance, so I use gloves. Durability: I've used them about 10 times while swimming and snorkeling in both the ocean and the pool. I didn't notice any signs of wear. Note. These gloves may not help you swim faster. Especially when diving, I noticed that the large surface area of these gloves gives me more power, at least for a few hard hits. When swimming in circles, more resistance makes me work harder (which is good, right?), but doesn't increase my overall speed. In fact, my time is increased by ten laps. However, when I take my gloves off, I feel like I can fly over water. (neighboring swimmers assured me that was not the case).
