Review on 🚽 Plastic/Ceramic Cartridge for American Standard by Jeremiah Vishwasrao

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A happy Thanksgiving hiker is here.

I wasn't sure about my AS model and the displays are a bit confusing. There seems to be about 3 47mm cartridges from AS and I couldn't find a good definitive page explaining repairs AND technical differences. Through a process of elimination, I concluded that one was for the bathroom faucet, the second was for the showerhead valve, which is thin enough to fit "back-to-back" bath/shower valves in a standard wall, and the third, then, was for kitchen faucets. I still hesitated and searched in vain before ordering. Let me tell you what I was looking for in my city and there was no AS brand or aftermarket valve in three sources. You could order one, but since it's Thanksgiving week, it won't ship until next week. Prices online ranged from $10 to $25, and shipping varied conversely (the cheaper the valve, the more shipping). I settled on $14. Normal postage was about $10 and 3-5 days. but then i think If I drive 40 miles one way ($12 gas) and put in 3-4 hours of my time, I CAN get one tomorrow. Energy! if they have it I looked at the shipping options and "pickup tomorrow by 8pm" is $18. made sense to me. and I won't be frustrated by traffic, snow and frustration if I can't find the right one. pressed the button. and the next evening at 6:00 p.m. a UPS truck was at the front door. After 15 minutes the water in the kitchen was turned on again. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
