The first night I used this set the light was barely visible at first and then disappeared after an hour. Tonight I used new rechargeable batteries that worked great. Tonight the batteries have been on for almost 6 hours and they shine well and brightly even at a distance; The difference is that they are smaller bulbs. Unlike some sets made for the Halloween season, the orange lights here are actually orange; purple, actually purple. There are 8 different settings. All but 3 spin with a strobe effect at the end, which I don't care, but number 8 is on all the time.
