Installed it on the back/top of the bedside table and it worked great. Drilled a hole in the top of the bedside table, drilled a hole in the back of the bedside table for a cord, cut a notch in the back of the bedside table drawer to allow the drawer to slide in and out without hitting the part of the outlet I was putting on and done. Wanted to provide guests with an easier way to charge cell phones etc. You can get new bedside tables that already have this, but they were 30 years old. Turn old into new – love it!
